"Reactor Technologies” - 2022

The National Nuclear Center conducted annual training courses on “Reactor Technologies” organized within the Contract on Personnel Training in peaceful use of atomic energy between the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Japan Atomic Energy Agency and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 

NNC specialists were lecturers as coordinators, instructors and lecturers, the part of them had been previously trained under the Instructor Training Program in Japan Atomic Energy Agency as well as Dr. Hideo Harada, a guest lecturer from Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The course included practical sessions on the basis of materials science.

As Mr. Harada noted, that during the training, all participants showed sufficient level of knowledge and qualification, as well as confirmed results of entrance and final tests. By tradition, on the final day, all participants received certificates confirming successful completion of the “Reactor Technologies” course.

This course is one of the links in Japan's lecturer-instructor program for Asian countries planning to build a nuclear power industry. The program was established in 1996 by the Atomic Energy Training Center with financial support from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology of Japan to promote international cooperation, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of training for the nuclear industry and to establish consistent and sustainable training system. Training courses for this program conduct at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency in Tokai and include the following topics: “Reactor Technology”, “Radiation Monitoring”, “Preparedness to Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies”.
