On June 26 in Minsk, a roundtable titled "Development of Nuclear Technologies within the Framework of the Main Directions of Industrial Cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030: Prospects for Cooperative Interaction among the EAEU Member States" was held at the IV Eurasian Economic Forum.
The roundtable participants discussed the key competencies and achievements of the Union countries and the observer states of the EAEU in the field of nuclear medicine, as well as the development of nuclear technologies in industry. A wide range of issues were touched upon, from applied scientific research and innovative production of radiopharmaceuticals to the implementation of several joint initiatives in the nuclear sector.
The event garnered interest from heads of state bodies and organizations, representatives of academia responsible for the development of nuclear technologies in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and neighboring states.
The Republic of Kazakhstan has officially declared a course towards the development of nuclear energy. Currently, the country is implementing priority measures to fulfill the directives of the Head of State regarding the establishment of a nuclear cluster.
The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides scientific and technical support for the preparatory work on the construction of a nuclear power plant in the country, conducts applied research in demand on the international market, and ensures the development of its own scientific competencies, thereby forming the necessary scientific, technological, and human resources base for the large-scale development of nuclear energy.
The event participants noted the important role of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the creation of the Kazakhstani nuclear energy sector and its potential as a scientific platform for the Eurasian Union in the field of nuclear and advanced energy technologies.
