Development of Kazakh-Belorusian Cooperation

On October 27, the RSE “National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and Belarusian Operator for Radioactive Waste Management (BelRAO) signed a memorandum of cooperation on the sidelines of the Energy Expo International Forum that held in Minsk.  

This document was signed by Gumar Sergazin, Director General of NNC RK and Mikhail Kisel, Director of BelRAO.

The Memorandum establishes a framework for cooperation between the two organizations in radioactive waste management. Parties intend to share experience and information, develop scientific and technical cooperation, and hold joint consultations, seminars and training placements for specialists.  

Signing such kind of memorandum marks an important step in the development of Kazakh-Belarusian cooperation in the nuclear sector and is expected to help improve expertise in the safe management of radioactive waste.
