Nuclear Forensics Workshop

The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a scientific and practical workshop, attended by representatives of JSC NAC “Kazatomprom” and RSE “Institute of Nuclear Physics”, ME RK, on application of nuclear forensics analytical methods.

The participants were introduced to the nuclear forensics methods, applied by specialists of NNC RK for nuclear material identification, carried out joint laboratory research of unknown uranium-containing material, analyzed the research results, and prepared explanations to the most common investigative questions when unaccounted nuclear material is detected.

For reference, such workshops for experts’ experience sharing extend the vision of nuclear forensics methods, applied for various nuclear and radioactive materials to get comprehensive answer to the questions raised by state bodies
