NNC RK Featured at IAEA Regional Event in Yerevan

The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the IAEA Regional Seminar on Preparedness and Response to Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies, held from 2 to 6 January 2026 in Yerevan (Armenia).  

This seminar addressed modern approaches to emergency preparedness, interagency coordination, and public protection in line with IAEA international standards. Participants included representatives from countries across the region, both those with operating nuclear power plants and those developing nuclear infrastructure.

Specialists from the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented experience of Kazakhstan in the development of biological dosimetry and its application in response to radiation incidents. Particular attention was paid to the integration of biodosimetric methods into national and regional response plans. 

The participation of the NNC RK in the seminar contributed to the expansion of international cooperation and the strengthening of the scientific and methodological framework for ensuring radiation safety in the region.
