Enhancing Human Resources Development with Support of JAEA

Personnel training cooperation between the National Nuclear Center of RK and Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) marks a long-standing partnership, ongoing since 2010, and forms a cornerstone of the international cooperation of NNC RK. Over this period, dozens of Kazakhstani specialists have received the training in Japan, while more than 370 individuals have participated in courses conducted in Kazakhstan with the support of Japanese experts.  

The training program comprises two stages: conducting training at the Integrated Support Center for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security (ISCN) in Japan, followed by the subsequent delivery of training courses at the NNC RK facilities in Kazakhstan. The curriculum covers key areas related to preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergencies, fundamentals of reactor technologies as well. 

Currently, a specialist from NNC RK is participating in an advanced instructor training course organized by ISCN JAEA. The program includes presentations by participants on their professional activities and national practices in personnel training, an introduction to radiation monitoring system of Japan as well, technical equipment, software and methods for forecasting and assessing the radiological situation.
