Kazakhstan and China Developing their Cooperation in the field of Hydrogen Energy

A working session with the Chinese Shanghai Jiaotong University and China Energy Company officials were held on the base of the National Nuclear Center of RK. Aim of the visit – discussions on the way forward of Memorandum implementation in the field of hydrogen energy negotiated in Beijing on March 20, 2025.  

The document reflects the agreement between RSE NNC RK, China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. and Jiaotong University and envisages phased implementation of joint scientific-technical projects.  

During the first stage, the parties will concentrate on the needed key areas: hydrogen production technologies, its solid-state storage, staff training, also search for technology-enabled solutions on the scaling out R&D results to the real sector of the economy. As such, priority must be given to the creation of joint research laboratory concerned on hydrogen energy. 

The Chinese delegation also visited experimental facilities of NNC RK, by exploring infrastructure and research capabilities.
