Technical Base Expansion of the NNC RK

The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan has acquired a modern ABEM Terrameter LS geophysical electric exploration station manufactured by Swedish Guideline Geo for its operations utilizing the resistance method. It is currently represented as a one of the most advanced electric exploration tools, which ensures to attain high quality data and making it suitable during operations related to groundwater and mineral resources detection, geological mapping and also for geotechnical studies.    

NNC RK specialists received extensive training in the use and maintenance of this equipment, also mastered methods of field research and laboratory data processing. 

The insight and knowledge gained will be used at the time of radiation monitoring of the underground water within the territory of Semipalatinsk Test Site, as well as when performing scientific studies in the field of radiation safety and radioecology.

It should be mentioned that the equipment received as a part of implementation of the National Project concerning technical cooperation with IAEA.
