Opening of Field Season

The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan has started field operations at the territory of the former Semipalatinsk Test Site.

In April, arrangements were made to transfer mobile buildings and essential equipment from the fleet park of “Baikal” Branch of RSE NNC RK to one of the former STS’s sites.

A field camp, guard post, and area for reprocessing removed soil were established at the work site.

The field area is currently fully prepared to carry out the main work as a part strategic direction – nonproliferation regime support. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=750993010543492
