Vienna Hosts Discussion on Development of Cooperation Between NNC RK and Idaho National Laboratory

On the margins of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference in Vienna, a working meeting was held between representatives of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a delegation from Idaho National Laboratory (INL, USA).

During the meeting, the parties discussed current areas of cooperation, the results of joint work, and prospects for the further development of scientific and technical cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Particular attention was given to the continued productive cooperation under the program to convert the research reactors of NNC RK from highly enriched to low-enriched uranium fuel. This implementation of this work represents one of the important areas of long-standing cooperation between Kazakhstani and American specialists.  

The Parties noted the achieved results and reaffirmed their interest in continuing joint activities, exchanging scientific and technical expertise, and developing new areas of cooperation.
