Expanding International Cooperation in the Field of Fusion Research

13 April 2026

From April 9 to 11, 2026, a delegation from the Korea Fusion Energy Institute (KFE, South Korea) visited the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the visit, a technical meeting was held where the parties discussed promising areas for joint research in the field of controlled thermonuclear fusion technologies, as well as issues related to personnel training.

For the Korean colleagues, the trip marked their first introduction to the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its experimental facilities including Kazakhstani Materials Tokamak (KTM), the plasma-beam facility, and the materials complex for the development of materials for thermonuclear facilities.

The introductory visit laid the foundation for further professional networking and subsequent exchange of expertise.
