A roundtable discussion entitled “Modern Nuclear Energy: Technology, Safety, Partnerships” was held as part of the 11th International Conference

Representatives from leading nuclear energy countries, as well as reactor technology developers and suppliers, participated in the roundtable discussion. 

The heads of the following organizations presented their strategic vision for the development of nuclear energy, evolutionary developments in the field of nuclear fuel cycle closure, and promising projects in the field of new nuclear energy technologies:

- The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy
- The Chinese Institute of Atomic Energy
- Rosatom State Corporation (Russia)
- The Japan Atomic Energy Agency
- The Idaho National Laboratory (USA)
- The Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique (France).

During the meeting, a number of key issues were discussed, and the crucial role of nuclear energy in low-carbon development strategies and achieving global climate goals was emphasized. Particular attention was given to the safety, environmental friendliness, and efficiency of advanced reactor technologies, as well as areas for accelerated innovation, such as developing new generations of reactors, closing the nuclear fuel cycle, and advancing small modular reactor technologies.

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience to implement the most effective solutions and promote innovation in the industry. They emphasized the need for effective interaction between the state, science, business, and society to promote the comprehensive and balanced development of nuclear energy.

The roundtable discussion provided a foundation for developing new joint initiatives and maintaining ongoing professional dialogue.
