Joining Forces with Nagra

The meeting between Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy Sergazin G.E and representatives from Swiss National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste (Nagra) was held on the margins of the 69th IAEA General Conference.    

During the negotiations the parties discussed the prospects of experience exchange in the field of RW and SNF management and modern long-term safe storage technologies as well. The sides discussed current developments, confirmed their mutual interest in enhancing cooperation, and outlined potential areas for joint work.  

An agreement was reached that direct development of cooperation with Nagra will be handled by the National Nuclear Center of RK, which allows to strengthening scientific-technical potential and raise the level of international cooperation in the area of nuclear safety.
