On March 6, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a solemn ceremony in Almaty to confer the Academician Nailya Bazanova Award, timed to coincide with International Women’s Day.
Instituted by NAS RK, the Nailya Bazanova Award is conferred annually for the second year running on woman scientists in recognition of their contributions to science and education development. This year, in 2026, the award was bestowed upon 66 distinguished represents from scientific institutions and higher education institutions throughout Kazakhstan.
Among the awardees is Galina Anatoliyevna Vityuk, Head of the Laboratory for Reactor Fuel Testing at the Branch “Institute of Atomic Energy” of RSE NNC RK, has proven herself to be a highly qualified specialist in research and the development of scientific principles underpinning the safety of nuclear reactors. Her work seamlessly integrates experimental investigations with numerical modeling of processes determining the behavior of nuclear fuel and the reactor core across diverse operational regimes.
The team of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan extends its heartfelt congratulations to Galina Anatoliyevna on being awarded this honor and wishes her outstanding scientific achievements, good realization of research initiatives and further professional successes!
