05 July 2019

Under the cooperation program, National Nuclear Center and Japan Atomic Energy Agency hold tenth Steering Committee meeting on personnel training for peaceful use of atomic energy on July 3-4 in Kurchatov.

The meeting is an important part of a program for training instructors-lecturers for Asian countries that plan to develop nuclear power engineering.

Specialists training is arranged in two stages. First stage: specialists of NNC RK are sent to JAEA Human Resource Development Center, where they are trained to become instructors together with representatives of Viet Nam, Bangladesh, Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, Mongolia, Indonesia and Philippines. Starting from 2010, over 20 Kazakhstani specialists attended the training. Instructors-lecturers after training, provide training for specialists at the National Nuclear Center jointly with Japanese experts.

For the period from 2012 to 2015, every year RSE NNC RK conducts two training courses: “Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Preparedness” and “Reactor Engineering”. Over one hundred specialists attended the training courses.

At the Steering Committee Meeting participants discussed problems, achievements and prospects for future development of the training courses.
