Total papers accepted – 40, of them contest papers – 32: IRSE – 8, IAE – 10, IGR – 3, INP – 4, Kazatomprom – 7 (fundamental papers – 4, enbgineering papers – 11, applied papers – 17); out of contest – 8: Non-profit JSC ‘Shakarim University of Semey’ – 3, D.Serikbayev EKTU – 2, Al-Farabi KazNu – 3 papers (fundamental papers – 4, applied papers – 4). The time limit on contestants’ speeches (given questions and answers) – 20 min.

The working languages of the contest conference are Kazakh and Russian.

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

October 16, Wednesday       – registration, opening, contestants’ paper presentations

October 17, Thursday          – contestants’ paper presentations

October 18, Friday              – completion of the contest, summing up, technical tours

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

November 22, Friday           – acceptance of articles recommended for publication in the ‘NNC RK Bulletin’ (as per the journal requirements)

WINNERS ARE DECIDED UPON AS PER A 5-SCORE SYSTEM FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • relevance;
  • practival value (problem meaningfulness, which a particular paper is dedicated to);
  • scientific and engineering level, originality, novelty;
  • work completeness;
  • a contestant’s personal contribution;
  • narration style and the material proficiency.

Supplimentary evaluation criteria, considering the specific nature of focus areas, are:

  • fundamental – publication levels;
  • engineering – evaluation of theoretical solutions;
  • applied – competitiveness.

The highest paper evaluation constitutes 35 points (given the designated criteria). The highest score defines a winner as a result of summed points marked by each member of the award panel.

AWARD SIZE AND QUANTITY, NOMINATIONS

The number of top places and money reward:

one first award in the amount of 195,000 KZT;

two second awards of 120,000 KZT each;

three third awards of 95,000 KZT each.

four incentive awards of 60,000 KZT each by nominations:

  • best speaker;
  • best paper design;
  • paper originality;
  • as an enthusiastic participant

one award for an innovative work in the amount of 40,000 KZT.

Each participant is issued a contest conference certificate. Participants who take top places are awarded  certificates of merit.

All participants have to prepare presentations of their papers and send them in a ppt/pptx or pdf format to abisheva@nnc.kz – by October 11, 2024.
