Issues on Atomic Energy Development in Kazakhstan are Discussed at the meeting in the Government

At the meeting in the Government under the chairmanship of Danial Akhmetov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, issues on work plan implementation for atomic power development in Kazakhstan were discussed. The Prime Minister of RK informed it to agency in Press Service.

As it was noted, plan instances planned for realization in 2006 are practically fulfilled. The strengthening of cooperation with Russia is underway. In the current month the start up of joint Kazakhstani-Russian enterprise for uranium-mining is realized in South-Kazakhstan, and has already got the first ton of yellow cake (uranium concentrate). Moreover, an international agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia on establishment of the International Uranium Enrichment Center is being prepared to sign.

During the meeting information about scientific-technological cooperation between two countries was also disclosed. In opinion of experts of the National Nuclear Centre, pattern of relationship development is planned concerning four main directions, among which the modernization of scientific-technical infrastructure.

Having listened to the information, the Prime Minister approved work performed in whole and assigned the Ministries and Authorities to prepare proposals on scientific programs budgeting in the field of atomic energy development.

"Positive dynamic in atomic energy industry is observed. Further steps in prospect will allow us to achieve great results in industry development and approach the International Market. But consider always the issues on ecological safety", - resumed the Head of Government.
