Prime-Minister of RK and Head of “Rosatom” Discussed an Issue of Joint Enterprise Establishment in the Sphere of Nuclear Industry

During the meeting held in Aktau, Sergey Kiriyenko, Head of Rosatom and Danial Akhmetov, Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan discussed the issues of cooperation between RF and RK in the sphere of nuclear power and industry development, reported Kazakhstan Today Agency.

In the course of the meeting D.Akhmetov stated that Russia and Kazakhstan "should have "unified energy policy in all the areas, particularly in nuclear industry and nuclear power". "As for energy cooperation, we prepared a number of projects for carbon energy. But we assume that development prospects for the cooperation with Russia is in nuclear area ", - he mentioned.

"I know that specialists have prepared a number of issues. First of all, the issues address the uranium production, establishment of a joint enterprise for uranium enrichment. And the most prospective issue is design for next generation units and as consequence, entrance to the markets of other countries ", - said D.Akhmetov.

The question is the project for NPP with three power units of VBER-300 type which are the recent development of Afrikantov Experimental Design Bureau of Machine Engineering (OKBM, Nizhniy Novgorod). According to the experts' opinion, if we succeed in construction of the first NPP with such power units, it will be possible to enter the market. 

Previously, Kazakhstan repeatedly announced its intentions to develop its own program of peaceful use of atom in common with Russia.
