The third international round table discussion "The pattern of nuclear power in XXI century: specialists' opinions on the development of dialogue between the authorities and public" was held in Astana in the capital of Kazakhstan. The organizers of which became Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan and Nuclear Society of Russia, Russian Fund " Nuclear forum», Ministry of Energy and Mineral resources of the RK .
The round table discussion, dedicated to the problems of cooperation with different government structures and public for development of nuclear power and industry, became a traditional activity of Nuclear Society. In 2003, it was held in Moscow and in Ukraine last year. An idea to conduct it came from Russian NS after meeting of Russian and American non-governmental experts which was held in Moscow, in 2002.
Actuality of the issue discussed at the round table meeting rises year by year, the period of Renaissance in nuclear power about which it is much spoken as in the nuclear society, as out of it, deduces the issue of cooperation with authorities and society on the foreground. Evidently, it is possible to make any ambitious plans of nuclear power development but their realization will be under the question without support of authorities and population. The constructive cooperation of the representatives of nuclear power, authority and society which form economical, social and political triangle is necessary. Owing to this, the joint discussion of questions raised by authoritative representatives of world nuclear society becomes current and essential.
The representatives of legislative authorities, departments, enterprises and organizations of nuclear complex of Kazakhstan and Russia took part in the third round table discussion. President of Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the RK Shkolnik V and President of Nuclear Society of Russia, Director General of Concern "Rosenergoatom" Antipov S held the round table meeting.

In the course of discussion, different aspects of cooperation of atomic specialists with government authorities and public were touched on. The cooperation was aimed at the development of nuclear power and industry.
Of course, the discussed issues went beyond the fixed scope at the meeting between the atomists of two countries. Speakers reported about the problems of atomic power complex development, the status and prospects for the development of Kazakhstan and Russia energy in XXI century. It is known that Kazakhstan comes second on the explored uranium reserves in the world and Ulbinsk combine, which is situated in its territory, accumulated great experience on the development and processing of new types of fuel pellets. Besides, Kazakhstan atomic scientists have unique experience in the decommissioning of power unit on BN-350 fast reactor. In a word, owners of round table had many things to show and to tell about their Russian colleagues.
The issue of nuclear power plant construction on the Balhash Lake was discussed separately; its commissioning could solve many economical problems. In connection with this, it was mentioned that the main common task for scientists and specialists, social nuclear organizations, government and mass media was creation of nuclear power pattern which could be friendly to society.
According to the results of the third international round-table discussion, President of NSK Shkolnik V and President of NSR Antipov S signed final document where among other points, was recommendation to continue holding such international round-table meetings, considering them as main contributory instrument for working out recommendations and decisions on the various issues of nuclear energy utilization."
