Government Approved the Project on Nuclear Technologies Park Development in Kurchatov

During the session on February 22, the Government approved the Project concerning the development of Park of Nuclear Technologies in Kurchatov.

"The program will enable Kazakhstan to enter the level of advanced technologies. Therefore, operations related to technopark development this year need to be funded, no matter how difficult it may be" - noted Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov. Under his instruction, 273 mln tenge of the republican budget will be directed this year for preparation of the technopark design and estimate documentation.

Addressing a meeting, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Vladimir Shkolnik emphasized that the Technopark Project meets the Strategy of Industrial and Innovative Development of the country, and its implementation will enable to turn many scientists' developments into competitive commercial products.

Operations on technopark creation will be generally completed by 2010. However, the production will start earlier and will increase with operation of basic nuclear facilities.
