Meetings Concerning Budget Programs 059 and 060 Were Held

December 3, 2003. Nuclear Power and Industry Section of RK Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Science and Technology Council held a meeting. December 4, 2003. The RK Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources' Board's meeting was held. The Section and Board considered the tasks and performance under budget programs 059 Construction of Kazakhstani Thermonuclear Reactor Tokamak KTM and 060 Creation of an Interdisciplinary R&D Complex on the Basis of Heavy Ions Accelerator at Gumilev Eurasian National University. Specialists of NNC RK and Russian institutions took part in the meetings. On program 059 implementation, reports were presented by NNC Deputy Director General Dr. of Physics & Maths I. Tazhibayeva, NNC Chief Engineer L. Tikhomirov, Work Coordinator for Russia Dr. of Physics & Maths E. Azizov, and Chief Designer of the Tokamak facility NIIEF Deputy Director V. Belyakov. On program 060 implementation, the speakers were: NNC INP Director K. Kadyrzhanov, Head of Nuclear Research Laboratory B. Gikal. The presentations spoke on major results of work under the programs and the tasks scheduled for 2004. The Board approved activities of NNC and INP as general designers for implementation of budget programs 059 Construction of Kazakhstani Thermonuclear Reactor Tokamak KTM and 060 Creation of an Interdisciplinary R&D Complex on the Basis of Heavy Ions Accelerator at Gumilev Eurasian National University as well as the Work Plan for 2004.
