  • Methods and results of sources parameterization and discrimination of seismic events.
  • Methods and results of post-explosion evaluation processes at the nuclear explosions sites.
  • Database as a basis for efficient monitoring

4. Applied aspects of technologies and nuclear monitoring data use:

  • Study and monitoring of earthquakes and man-caused phenomena
  • Study of the Earth's crust and upper mantle structure
  • Geoecological monitoring

 

VENUE

 

The Conference will be held at the premises of the Institute of Geophysical Research NNC RK, in Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan Region, Republic of Kazakhstan. Airports of arrival: Pavlodar, Semey. Railway stations: Degelen, Semey and Pavlodar. The participants will be staying in Kurchatov hotels.
The cost of housing is US$30 to US$100 per day.

 

CONFERENCE LANGUAGES

 

The Conference languages are Russian and English. The papers will be translated into working languages of the Conference

ABSTRACTS AND REPORTS

Abstracts

Text of the abstracts of 2-3 full pages in Russian or English are submitted together with application for participation.

The following recommendations should be met while submitting thesis:

Page format A4 (210 x 297 mm) with margins: top, left, bottom - 25 mm: right - 15 mm. Times New Roman print of the 10th size for both body text and headers. Use single spacing in the text and double spacing between paragraphs.

 

The title should be bold and capital letters, header should be centered. Last names of authors, middle and first names (shortened to the first letter and following the last name) should also be in bold, lowercase and centered.

 

If authors represent different organizations, their names should be numbered. The name of organizations, city, country, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail should be in bold italic and marked by the same numeral as the author.

 

Figures may be colored (GIF, JPEG, TIF) or black-and-white (Word format) with 600 dpi. Text should be given in MS WORD format for Windows. The materials should be submitted as a soft copy via e-mail or by means of floppy disk/CD.

Reports

Presentation duration: 20 minutes. The printed version of papers is supposed to be published prior to the conference opening.

The type of report design for publication is followed from the example given below.

Annotation- 4-10 lines

 

The text should be up to 14-16 pages. Pages should not be numbered. Dividing according to subject headings is welcomed, but not obligatory.

 

Typesetting

The text should be prepared on A4 sheets with margins: top, bottom, left - 2.5 cm, right - 1.5 cm. Font is Times New Roman, height (size) - 12 points for head and 10 points for plain text. Single spacing should be used when typing. Double spacing should be used between paragraphs

 

The title of presentation should be bold, uppercase, header should be centered. Authors' last names, first and middle names (abbreviated to the first letter and located before the last name) should be also bold, lowercase and centered.

 

If the authors represent different organizations, their names should be numbered, as it was shown above. Organization name, city, country should be bold italic and numbered if there are several organizations. Text is centered.

 

The presentation headings are not centered and separated from previous and subsequent text by one line, and it should be also bold.

The table name is not centered and placed after words: Table 1, 2...Tables are separated by one line after title. The table is centered.

 

Figures could be colored or black-and-white. Black-and-white figures are submitted as Word-files, colored figures with 600 dpi favorably to submit in GIF, JPEG formats. Volume of scanned figures and Exñel figures must be minimized. The caption must be separated by one empty line under a figure after words: Figure 1.. The width of a figure should be 8 or 14 cm. Inscriptions in figures should be readable by reduction of figures to above-mentioned size. The figures should be laid out in their accordant places in the text or their locations to be indicated by placement of their names.

The formulas to be presented as the object of Microsoft Equation in the text or Math Type. Those formulas to be numbered that are referred to.

Chemistry formulas and small figures in the text line should be presented as the object of Paint Microsoft Word.

Papers may be submitted on a floppy disk, CD, via e-mail: igr(at)nnc.kz.

References

The references in the text are placed with numbers in square brackets in mention order: [ ].

REGISTRATION FEE

 

Registration fee upon arrival is US$100 at the rate of the National Bank RK on the date of payment. Registration fee ensures participation in the work of the Conference, provision with a set of information materials, participation in excursions, transportation to the Conference site from airport/train station.
