• world trends in atomic power engineering;

• nuclear testing and their influence on the radiation situation of Semipalatinsk Test Site;
• monitoring of nuclear testing and their outcomes.

Non-Proliferation

• nuclear materials control and physical protection;
• international co-operation for non-proliferation;
• decommission, methods and technologies.

Nuclear Technologies

• production and application of isotopes;
• radiation treatment of materials.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM

The Conference will be held in the framework of sixty-year anniversary of the city Kurchatov and fifteen-year anniversary of National Nuclear center accompanied by expanded cultural program. Scientific part of the Conference includes plenary reports on atomic power engineering, radio-ecology, non-proliferation's problem and nuclear technologies as well as round-table discussions on the following subjects:

1. Modern Reactors and IV Generation
2. Security and Non-Proliferation
3. Power Engineering and Ecosystem
4. Utilization of Atomic Industry Wastes

Other topics are welcomed for poster presentations.
All the papers presented at the Conference will be published.

PLACE OF THE CONFERENCE

The Conference will be held in Kurchatov, Kazakhstan, hosted by National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

CONFERENCE LANGUAGES

Conference languages will be Russian and English.
Papers should be submitted in the working languages of the Conference.

DEADLINES

June 15, 2007 - application deadline for participation in the Conference (should include titles of the proposed papers).
July 15, 2007  - deadline for receiving abstracts.

PAPER ABSTRACTS

The abstracts should to be submitted to the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee not later than July 15, 2007 as electronic copy (by e-mail as attached file or as a file on a floppy disk 3.5 in the format MS Word). Please use font Times New Roman with a height of 12 points. The abstracts should not exceed 1 page of the format A4 (210×297 mm) with margins:

top - 25 mm;             left - 30 mm;
bottom - 25 mm;      right - 15 mm.

The titles should be printed in capital letters. Please, leave two intervals between the report titles, authors names and titles of organizations and country. After that, having left 2 intervals, the text of the abstract is printed through 1 interval. A book of abstracts will be issued prior to the date of the Conference.

Papers of the reports (printing and electronic copies) are introduced to secretariat of the Conference at registration. The reports will be published in Proceedings after the Conference.

ORGANIZATIONAL FEE

The organizational fee for the participants from Kazakhstan and CIS countries is $50 USD, from other countries - $200 USD to be paid in tenge according to exchange rate of ICB at a moment of payment.

The organizational fee covers technical services, book of Conference abstracts, coffee breaks and official reception. Organizational fee is paid in cash at the reception or can be transferred by August 1, 2007 to the account of NNC RK.

The bank information for transferring of organizational fee will be performed on the NNC RK official web-site (http://www.nnc.kz).
