CONFERENCE SITE
The Conference will be held at Borovoye Geophysical Observatory (Borovoye GO) of the Institute of Geophysical Research NNC RK, Borovoye settlement, Akmolinskaya Oblast, the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Airports of arrival: Astana, Kokchetav.
Railway stations: Borovoye resort, Astana.

PARTICIPANTS REGISTRATION
Participants registration will take place in GO “Borovoye” in August 14, 2006.

ACCOMODATION
The participants will be staying in hotels and living quarters of Borovoye GO, and in the boarding houses of Borovoye resort. Cost of housing is US$10 to US$100 per day.

WORKING LANGUAGES
The Conference languages are Russian and English. The papers will be translated into working languages of the Conference.

REGISTRATION FEE
Registration fee is US$60 at the rate of National Bank RK on the date of payment. Registration fee ensures participation in the work of the Conference, provision with a set of information materials, participation in excursions, transportation to the Conference site from airport/train station and back. .
There might be technical tours to active seismic stations and Borovoye reserve area.

THESIS
The text of report thesis 2-3 full pages in Russian or in English should be provided together with participant’s application form.

The following recommendations should be met while submitting thesis:

Page format À4 (210 to 297 mm) with empty margins: from top, left and bottom - 25 mm; from the right side - 15 mm. Font should be Times Roman with size 10 for head and plain text. Single spacing should be used when typing. Double spacing should be used between paragraphs.

The title of the report should be typed bold capital letters and be centered. Authors’ last names, first and middle names (abbreviated to the first letters and located before the last name) should be typed bold lowercase letters and to be also centered.

If authors represent different organizations, their last names should be numbered. Organization name, city, country, telephone, fax and E-mail should be typed bold italic letters and to have the same number as for its author’s last name.

Figures could be colored or black-and-white. Text should be given with the figures in MS Word format for Windows software.

Thesis and its figures should be sent as electronic file via E-mail or using disk/floppy disk. Files with figures could be sent separately in one the following formats: GIF, JPEG.

REPORTS
The duration of report presentation is 20 min. Printed reports are planned to be published before the conference.

The type of report dressing for publication is followed from the example given below.

Annotation - 4-10 lines

Introduction

The text up to 14-16 pages. Pages should not be numbered. Dividing according to subject headings is welcomed, but not obligatory.

Typesetting

The text should be prepared on A4 sheets with margins: top, bottom, left - 2.5 cm, right - 1.5 cm. Font is Times New Roman, height (size) - 10 points for head and plain text. Single spacing should be used when typing. Double spacing should be used between paragraphs.

The title of presentation should be bold, uppercase, header should be centered. Authors’ last names, first and middle names (abbreviated to the first letter and located before the last name) should be also bold, lowercase and centered.

If the authors represent different organizations, their names should be numbered, as it was shown above. Organization name, city, country should be bold italic and numbered if there are several organizations. Text is centered.

The presentation headings are not centered and separated from previous and subsequent text by one line, and it should be also bold.

The table name is not centered and placed after words: Table 1,.2..Tables are separated by one line after title. The table is centered.

Figures could be colored or black-and-white. Black-and-white figures are submitted as Word-files, colored figures favorably to submit in GIF, JPEG formats. Volume of scanned figures and Exñel figures must be minimized.

The caption must be separated by one empty line under a figure after words: Figure 1..

Summary

Papers may be submitted on a floppy disk, CD, via e-mail igr@nnc.kz.

References

References should be set in alphabetic order. The references in the text are placed in square brackets: [ ].
