SEMIPALATINSK TEST SITE
RADIATION LEGACY AND NONPROLIFERATION ISSUES


 

The Second International Scientific Practical Conference Semipalatinsk Test Site Radiation Legacy and Nonproliferation Issues will be held at the Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kurchatov in September 6 – 8, 2005.

It is planned to assess the current environmental status and predict the radiation situation within the Semipalatinsk Test Site and the adjacent areas and other locations where nuclear tests and accidents took place.

A wide range of issues on prospects in the field of radiation safety, radiecological and radiobiological research and international cooperation in support of non-proliferation regime will be discussed.

CONFERENCE LANGUAGES
The working languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Papers will be translated into the Conference working languages.

PAPERS
Papers, prepared as MS Word 6.0/95 or 97 files both in Russian and English, should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat by e-mail as an attachment or using a 3.5" floppy disc by June 2, 2003. Please use Times New Roman 12pt font. The full paper should not exceed 10 pages of A4 format (210×297 mm) and have margins:

25 mm - top;             25 mm - left;
25 mm - bottom;       15 mm - right.

The paper title should be capitalized. Please leave two lines blank and type authors' names and initials and represented institution names (including city and country). Then, again leave two lines blank and type the paper text single-spaced. Papers will be collected in a Book and published before the Conference.

 

CONFERENCE FEE
The registration fee is US$ 20 for Kazakhstani and CIS participants and US$ 200 for participants from other countries. It should be paid in the Kazakhstani monetary unit tenge using the MIME rate on the day of currency exchange.
