Isochronous Cyclotron

Isochronous Cyclotron

Isochronous Cyclotron

An isochronous cyclotron was designed at the NIIEFA (Research Institute of Electrophysical Equipment) (Leningrad, Russia).

It was put into operation in classic mode in 1965 with fixed energy of particles (p, d, α) of 10 MeV/nucleon.

In 1972 it was put into isochronous mode with controlled ion energy.

Gas return system, outer beam transportation system, system of beam scanning at solid-state target, system of beam non-contact diagnostics and other were put into operation.

It is used in the field of nuclear physics, radiation material and structure investigations, radiation strength of elements and for radiopharmaceutical products production.
